Nahui Ollin or The Physics of Desire: a Philosophiæ Naturalis
This work was born in response to the times of the Anthropocene, climate emergency and related pandemics. Interactive and experimental, this book invites the reader to make sense of visual and textual poetry while bringing together principles of science with play, love, eroticism, ancestral-Mexican relational worldviews, and the poetic possibilities of co-existence.
By offering participatory-relational alternatives to observer-phenomena epistemological assumptions, this book-play questions the primacy of detached Western ways of knowing and being in the world, and also what a poetry book is.
Translation from the Spanish original to English by Canadian poet Helena Dunsmoor.
Edition of 120 numbered copies. Hand-binding work by Ruby Lewis. Book-making advicing by Lois Klassen.
